Banner Submission Guide

Want to see your server's branding in the archive? Follow these steps to ensure your banner is compatible with classic and modern Hotline clients.

Technical Requirements

To maintain compatibility with Transaction 122 (Get Server Banner), all submissions must meet these specs:

• Dimensions: Exactly 468 x 60 pixels (Standard) or 600 x 60 pixels (Wide).
• Format: JPEG (.jpg) is preferred. Baseline (Standard) encoding only.
  • Note: Do not use "Progressive" JPEGs; they appear as white boxes on 68k/PPC Macs.
• File Size: Under 50KB. Large banners cause lag during the login handshake.
• Transparency: Hotline does not support transparency in JPEGs. Use a solid background color (Black #000000 is recommended).

How to Submit

Currently, submissions are handled manually. Please provide the following:

1. The Image File: Attach your .jpg or .gif.
2. Server Name: The name of the server the banner belongs to.
3. Historical Context: (Optional) Years the server was active and the primary focus (Files, Chat, Art).
